Pricing

Quoted for your job. Written down first.

The short version

Websites are a flat £50 to design and build, then hosting from £30/month. Bespoke software we price individually, because software cost is driven by scope rather than by company size — you get a fixed build figure in writing before any work starts. Either way it's one flat monthly Direct Debit covering hosting on our own UK servers, backups, monitoring, updates and support. No per-seat fees, cancel anytime.

We know a page that won't print a number is annoying. Here is everything we can honestly tell you without knowing what you need.

Why there isn't a price list

Software cost is developer time, and developer time is set by how many distinct things the system has to do correctly. Two firms in the same trade can need builds that differ by a factor of five — one has three straightforward stages, the other has approvals, subcontractors and a compliance regime.

A supplier who quotes before understanding your process is either guessing, or has already decided to sell you something generic. Neither ends well.

What we can tell you about the market

For context rather than as our quote: a UK small-business website typically runs somewhere between £500 and £5,000 up front plus hosting elsewhere, or roughly £50–£150 a month on a subscription arrangement. Bespoke software is wider still — a focused single-purpose tool is a small piece of work; a full operations platform is a serious investment.

Where we sit in those ranges depends entirely on what you're asking for, which is what the scoping conversation is for.

What drives your number up or down

  • Distinct workflows. One job type is straightforward. Seven, each with its own rules, is not.
  • Integrations. Payments, accounting, calendars, a supplier portal — each is its own piece of work, and the poorly documented ones can outweigh everything around them.
  • Data migration. Getting twelve years of records out of an old system is regularly underestimated.
  • Kinds of user. Office, engineer, subcontractor and customer logins are four different products' worth of thinking.
  • Compliance. Audit trails, retention and evidence requirements are real engineering.
  • How clearly you can describe it. The single biggest lever, and the one that costs you nothing.

How the money actually works

  • Free design or scoping first. Websites get a free homepage concept before you commit — the build itself is a flat £50, then hosting from £30/month. Software gets a free scoping conversation — including the version that ends with us saying an off-the-shelf product would serve you better.
  • Fixed build quote, in writing. One figure, agreed before work starts.
  • One monthly Direct Debit afterwards. Hosting on our own UK servers, daily encrypted backups, monitoring, TLS, security updates, ordinary changes and support — one predictable number.
  • No per-seat fees. Taking on seasonal staff shouldn't come with a bill attached.
  • Cancel anytime. We export everything to CSV and delete our copy within 30 days.

Products with published prices

Where we already run a finished platform for a trade, the price is public and you don't need to speak to anyone to find it out. AggM8, for bulk materials hauliers, starts at £55 a month for fleet compliance and £149 a month for the full operations platform. GlassM8, for window cleaners, is priced on its own site.

If a product already exists for your trade, buying it beats commissioning a build — we'd rather sell you the £55 answer than a bespoke one you didn't need.

What we don't charge for

  • The scoping conversation, or the homepage concept.
  • Setup or onboarding.
  • Ordinary changes once you're live — a price change, new content, a new page.
  • Getting your own data back out, ever.

Questions

About money.

Why won't you give a price on the phone?

Because the price is a function of scope, and scope isn't knowable in a ten-minute call. What we can do on the phone is tell you quickly whether you're in the right ballpark for us at all, which saves us both time.

Can the build cost be spread?

Frequently — and staged delivery helps here too, because you pay for one phase at a time and get something usable at the end of each.

What happens if the scope changes mid-build?

It's priced and agreed as it arises, in writing, rather than discovered at the end. Changes are normal; surprise invoices aren't.

Is there a minimum contract?

No. The monthly Direct Debit is cancellable and your data leaves with you.

Do you charge per booking, per order or per user?

No. A booking system that takes a cut of every booking is the thing we build to replace, so charging that way ourselves would be a strange position to hold.

Describe how your business runs and what's costing you time. You'll get a fixed figure in writing, or an honest recommendation to buy something off the shelf instead.
